Babalola Obilana is the Director-General of the Lagos State Pension Commission

The Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Mr. Babalola Obilana as the Director-General of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) in recognition of his outstanding performance and accomplishments in the financial sector.

Mr. Obilana who takes over from Mrs. Folashade Onanuga becomes the 3rd Director-General of the Lagos State Pension Commission. Until his appointment, Mr. Obilana was the Executive Director, Business Development and Service Stanbic IBTC Asset Management.

An erudite scholar who graduated from the University of Lagos with a BSC (Hons) in Actuarial Science. He holds an MBA from the famous Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School for Senior Management Programme (SMP).

His robust career spans over 28 years from different financial institutions such as ARM Pension Managers where he was a pioneer staff responsible for business development

As the new Director-General of the Commission, he has promised to bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear at the Agency, as disclosed in a meeting with top management of the Agency in his office on Wednesday, 3rd of June 2020.

Mr. Obilana also informed of his commitment to maintaining and improving on the accomplishments of his predecessor. In conclusion he sought for the cooperation of all and sundry most especially the staff of the Commission.

He is happily married with a son.
