The Lagos State Pensions Commission (LASPEC) held its 24th Pre-Retirement Seminar, on June 13th, 2023. It was a grand celebration, a day of jubilation, learning and hope for a better future for our celebrants. This seminar was specially organized for officers retiring from July to December 2023! The event aimed to provide retiring officers with valuable insights into a wide range of retirement-related topics, ensuring a smooth transition into the next phase of their lives.
During the seminar, officers had the opportunity to gain knowledge on various subjects, including:
- Understanding pension benefits and documentation
- Financial planning for retirement
- Post-retirement investment strategies
- Health and wellness considerations
- Transitioning into retirement smoothly
- Expert advice and Q&A session
To enrich the seminar, LASPEC guest speakers such as Mrs. Iyang Samni-Orungbe, CEO of @thebloomboxplatform and Mr. Olokode, Director of the Lagos State Ministry of Education. These esteemed individuals provided valuable insights into managing finances during and after retirement.
Our retirees all showed up, happy, gallantly and jubilantly. It turned out to be an awseome time of getting ready for life after retirement, learning and empowerment.
